Qualifications stated in the law
RA No. 11131 identifies citizenship or reciprocity, good moral character and reputation, a CHED-recognized Bachelor of Science in Criminology or equivalent, and the absence of a conviction involving moral turpitude as qualifications for the examination.
The same law requires a recognized criminology refresher course after five failures, whether consecutive or cumulative. That rule is a qualification condition from the statute, not a prediction about an individual applicant's eligibility.

Documents listed by PRC
This is a concise rendering of the current PRC checklist. The checklist also says the Board may prescribe special requirements, so an applicant should use the live PRC page and the relevant regional office instructions at filing time.
- PSA birth certificate and, when applicable, PSA marriage contract for a married female applicant.
- Transcript of Records with a scanned picture and the remark “For Board Examination Purposes.”
- College diploma showing the graduation date and Special Order number when required; CHED equivalency documentation may apply to an equivalent foreign degree.
- Valid NBI clearance and two certificates of good moral character from the listed sources, including the barangay and the school dean.

File through the current PRC process
The 2026 schedule directs applicants to LERIS and to submit supporting documents within the prescribed period. PRC's repeater guidance can reduce in-person document submission only when its stated conditions are met, including a matching previous application record and available photo.
Do not infer that a repeater is exempt from every document or Board-specific requirement; check the current checklist and any instruction shown in LERIS.
